forgot to post this yesterday. I finally got the engine out of the bay. Time to start on cleaning/welding/body work soon!

Engine bay teardown Pt 2
Not a whole lot to say today other than Thanks to a fellow dsmer that dropped by today to help me get this transmission out. Again THANK YOU!
Engine bay teardown Pt1
Today... was hot... for my fat ass at least, 84 degrees and upper lower 70's for humidity. Today I began the engine bay tear down by pulling the hood off the car... not easy by yourself but i managed it without destroying anything. Time to start clearing out the engine bay. First thing i did … Continue reading Engine bay teardown Pt1
I got a little bored to day and pulled out the DA
I tried sanding some areas with 240 grit by hand to see how that would go... it didnt go, at all. tried the wire wheel on a grinder and while this got me some where I looked like a pin cushion made of steel wires. Trusty DA to the rescue 80 grit and this is … Continue reading I got a little bored to day and pulled out the DA
Every thing is better with a wing
Ok not every thing but a dsm 100% is. Otherwise it looks like a cavalier. i got kind of curious about h ow much filler the previous owner used to cover up the holes. I didn't really expect to find a 1/4 inch of it though
Some things don’t go as planned… occasionally they go better
I had toyed with the idea of building the motor in the car once I pulled it out. However at the same time I told myself i could just buy another block... get the car running and enjoy it a bit. Weeeeeeelllll FB market place is a magical place of great deals. A few days … Continue reading Some things don’t go as planned… occasionally they go better
It’s still hot but whatever
Found some time today to weld up the holes in the floor board of the car where the previous owners roll cage used to be. I am by no means a seasoned welder. I have no formal training. I only have "I click the button and the machine poops molten metal wherever I point it." … Continue reading It’s still hot but whatever
It’s too hot… not much progress today
It's a sweltering 91 degrees outside and probably slightly hotter than that in the garage. I only managed to get the car in the air today and pulled the wheels off. Added note: my sears jack finally died today. The fatass S550 mustangs probably finally murdered it the last time I used it and it … Continue reading It’s too hot… not much progress today
Finally starting to build instead of destruct
Today I didn't make a bunch of progress (yet and with the humidity I doubt I go into the garage ) but I did manage to cover the headliner in epoxy. I plan on recovering the headliner in some kind of automotive themed fabric or something 90's themed. Time will tell. If you cant guess … Continue reading Finally starting to build instead of destruct
Interior Teardown Part 5 ( end )
Yesterday was the end of the tear down. I finally got all of the sound deadener out of the car. All that's left is some minor dissasembly of the seat belt motors that will be replaced with a standard 3 point seat belt. The auto belts have always left me feeling unsafe. So here it … Continue reading Interior Teardown Part 5 ( end )
